Awaiting the birth of your child is like standing on the edge of a vast, sacred unknown. It’s a strange and tender mix of anticipation, vulnerability, and love that feels almost too big to carry. Your heart expands in ways you never thought possible, preparing to hold a love so vast it will change you forever.
There’s a quiet hope that you’ll be enough for them, that you’ll rise to the privilege and challenge of being their guide. But there’s also a whisper of doubt—of change, of the weight of responsibility, of doing it all right. With three kids of my own I can attest to this, and if I'm honest - that those feelings never really change. They stay with you, evolving with each new season of motherhood, shaping the layers of who you are and who you are becoming.
I believe there’s nothing more breathtaking than a mother carrying her child—a testament to the miracle of life and the love already unfolding. You might look in the mirror and not feel like having photos taken but I promise in time - these memories will be worth more than you know. For you. For your family. And for the little soul who will grow up cherishing the proof of how deeply they were loved before they even arrived.
Let me help you preserve this fleeting moment - because it's one worth holding onto.
A maternity session with me is a chance to pause and soak in the beauty of this incredible season of your life. These sessions are designed to feel relaxed and unhurried. They're about small rituals and presence, a time to honour the stillness before the arrival of a new beginning.
From one mum to another, I know this season can feel overwhelming, but I’m here to help you feel at ease and document this time in a way that feels true to you. Maybe it's a morning stroll hand in hand via your favourite cafe, or an afternoon at to the beach soaking up a glorious sunset. Or maybe you simply want to record time at home basking in the quiet of the two of you before your world forever changes.
These photos aren’t about being perfect—they’re about capturing the anticipation, the love, and the connection between you that make this time so unforgettable and I'd be honoured to guide you as we do.
"Nobody captures the quiet, in-between moments quite like Trish. Her friendly, calming presence allows us to just be ourselves, producing photography that is natural, candid and sentimental. We have been fortunate enough to have Trish capture past milestones and look forward to many, many more."
- Fran & Angus
“You are a gifted storyteller, and we feel so blessed that you told our story through your lens.”
- Grace
"We are so blessed to have done a couple of family sessions with Trish over the years. Her photographs have such beauty and grace. Definitely one of the top family photographers in the world."
- Jon & Krys
Maternity sessions are best scheduled around 32-35 weeks, when your bump is more pronounced and visible, while (hopefully) comfortably away from your due date.
Documenting newborn life is so very precious and every parent can attest to how fast time flies. Early newborn sessions while babies are still tiny and sleepy are recommended during the first 5-10 days of birth. These sessions take place at your home, documenting the new bonds and those early, blurry, beautiful days of togetherness.
Alternatively, if you prefer your baby more interactive and awake, I would recommend considering a session around 4-6 month where they are more interactive and expressive, and some rhythms begin to be established within the home.
Once you let me know your due date and ideal timing for your session, we can align our calendars and lock in a date. Your session is booked in with me once your $300 creative session fee has been paid (collections are purchased separately and include both digital and print options - request full price guide here).
We will then confirm specific timing and location details, and I offer guidance for clothing and styling if you require this in the lead up. The session itself will be relaxed and intimate, and your images will be available to view within a fortnight.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, and I would LOVE to. There is a film fee of $300 to cover film and processing costs.
I want you to feel comfortable in your own skin. Textures, layers, and neutrals are timeless and often work well - but above all, I want you to feel like you, and the kids to feel like themselves. I send through a client prep pack before your session, which has some guidance on dressing for the day.
Yes! However, given my style is documentary and natural, I suggest organising these sessions around an activity such as a picnic, beach adventure or an indoor at-home session doing things you love to do together as a family. I can take all the group photos that the parents or grandparents request, but also all the quiet magic and subtle gestures that make your family who they are! Please note additional fees may apply.
As a professional photographer, I believe this is one of the most valuable services I offer and perhaps the most often overlooked. Your time and money invested deserve to be celebrated rather than remain in hiding on a drive or cloud somewhere.
Once your session is complete, your images are hosted in a private gallery linked to my favourite lab with an abundance of beautiful products that can be ordered and shipped safely to your door. I can help design keepsake albums for you to hold in your hands and heart. I’m also available to provide advice on creating gallery walls, print and frame sizing.

My 3yo often says "I want to go to the beach and take photos with Aunty Trish again". Forever grateful we have these beautiful memories captured of each season as these will become so valuable to our littles ones and us as the years go on."
Hi! I'm Trish, a family photographer in Sydney, Australia specialising in relaxed and natural in-home and outdoor lifestyle sessions. As a mum of three (pictured) I've come to believe there's a certain magic in the mundane - sometimes you just need to see it to believe it.
Through tender narratives, I document love and connection, seeking to portray the way things feel through all of life's seasons - so you may never forget.
